The Irish LEGO User Group is committed to protecting the privacy of our members. We have developed our Privacy Policy to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and to explain how and why we collect, store and use your personal data.
How we collect personal data and what is collected
When you register an account on the community forum your IP address is logged and you are required to provide an email address. When you make a post on the forum your IP address is logged. All other personal data collected is limited to that which you have volunteered to provide when registering or updating your account and profile information and when posting in the forum.
Why we collect this data
Your email address is collected to facilitate registration validation and to allow communication to finalise your registration and keep you informed of community news. You can opt-out of receiving communication by email once your account has been approved. IP addresses are logged to assist forum moderation and to combat spam.
Sharing of your data
We do not share any personal data with third parties with the exception of IP addresses used by Google Analytics and Statcounter (see ‘Use of Cookies’ below).
Protection of your data
We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information collected.
Viewing and editing your data
You can view and edit your primary data on your account and profile pages. Forum posts can be viewed and edited under individual forum topics.
Removal of your data
You can delete your forum account under Account Setting at any time. All personal data stored under your account and forum profile will be removed upon deletion. You can request all or individual posts you have made in the forum to be deleted or assigned to an anonymous subject.
Use of Cookies
We use cookies to store visitors preferences, record session information, record user-specific information on what pages users access or visit in order to provide a better experience when visitors return to our site. We use cookies for Statcounter and Google Analytics to track user statistics on all visitors across the site.
Children
The Irish LEGO User Group is for persons aged 18 years or older. If you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information please contact us. If we become aware that a person under the age of 18 has provided us with personal information we will remove such information and delete the child’s account.
Updates to this Privacy Policy
The Irish LEGO User Group reserves the right to amend this policy where required to adhere to revised GDPR regulations and/or Irish Data Protection Laws or where there are changes to what, why and how data is collected, stored and processed.
