Another NASA set to add to the collection

Boy that's big, and the price is like space ...way out there!

What an incredible looking set!
Apparently there'll be a limited VIP exclusive probe as well, according to Brickset:
"In addition, VIPs will be able to purchase an exclusive item with their points; an Ulysses Space Probe, available for 1,800 VIP Points, which the Space Shuttle Discovery also deployed in 1990 on a mission to scan the Sun. Limited stocks available."

So much want for this. A few months back I was working through my pieces for KingsKnight Shuttle on Rebrickable: https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-46228/KingsKnight/space-shuttle-1110-scale/#details, but read a rumour there would be an official set released lated in the year, so held off, and here it is.
They've done a fantastic job with this. No doubt some talented individual will have the SRBs and ET moc'd up shortly.
Tempted to flog my Tantive IV for this... decisions... decisions.
-
Yeah I'd love to see what people come up with for the SRB/ET.
Building a launch tower for the Saturn V is on my very-long-term to-do list!
-
Will definitely have to build the SRBS and external tank to go with it, going to be an expensive project.
-
Unfortunately the Ulysses probe that was supposed to launch (pun intended) tonight alongside the shuttle has been delayed, apparently supply issues let to only 300 being available for the European market.
-
Ordered my Space Shuttle the day it was released, it was delivered last Friday.
From past experience I think this is a set that will go on back order real fast.
So mine is sitting waiting to be built. Could be a project across a couple of evenings this week.
Timelapse to follow at some, point.
-
Good to hear from you ,looking forward to that
-
First 3 bags make up the Hubble Space Telescope, I might do that this evening.
-
Mine's a birthday present so it has to sit in the box for another couple of weeks, desperately trying to avoid looking at reviews and videos and stuff in the meantime!
-
Creator sets are SOLID, I love the intricacies of Tecnics, but Creator are just so damn heavy!
Two evenings worth of building at a fairly leisurely pace.

Super video Grant. I take it were the satellite panels stickers? Didn't see the frame where they were added!

Satellite panels are a foil element - https://brickset.com/parts/6342963/punching-foil-sheet-no-43
There's actually very few stickers in the set. Main ones being silver foil for inside the cargo bay doors for the "radiators" and a couple of "Discovery" ones around the cockpit. Oh, and the description ones for the display boards.

Patient tidy builder , love seeing the next step pieces laid out, it's huge looking

It's on a par for size with the Technics Bugatti and also the 1989 Batmobile.

Deep glass fronted shelving or a wickedbrick display , I don't budget for display , lack of funding and the government here is anti-lego (and no elections in the foreseeable future).
-
I've 3 Ikea glass cabinets, turned out to be a bit of a mistake as the larger sets don't fit in them!
So at the moment I've used a bunch of black bricks to build an "extension" on the bottom of the normal Shuttle stand so that it's a few inches taller and now it can sit on top of the case and the extension makes it sit taller than the Bugatti and Batmobile.

New rocket but 4+ Mickey mouse style , it fits my budget so could be my first rocket ,with spring loaded missiles could take on Saturn V easily
