Back in the day when I had 1x4x3 panels (the old type (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4215b&name=Panel%201%20x%204%20x%203%20-%20Hollow%20Studs&category=%5BPanel%5D#T=S&C=11&O={%22color%22:%2211%22,%22iconly%22:0})), if you built them on top of one another they would tend to bend outwards (in the direction of the flat side of the panel).
I don't have any of the new type (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=60581&name=Panel%201%20x%204%20x%203%20with%20Side%20Supports%20-%20Hollow%20Studs&category=%5BPanel%5D#T=S&C=11&O={%22color%22:%2211%22,%22iconly%22:0}) with side supports - does anyone know if they still suffer from this problem?

What age were you when using the old type as you may not have been as careful as an adult paying for or using them other than play, kids tend not to see lego as anything other than another toy .play and display are world's apart

I guess I got most of them when I was about 10 years old, but I took good care of my Lego as a child... I think as those parts aged they just possibly started to bend outwards very slightly. Not enough to be noticeable on one panel but over a few stacked up it would be visible.
